The Edwin Mellen Press does not
accept subsidies or grants toward the publication
of its titles because it believes such practices
distort the publishing process. Most Mellen books
are published within six months of receipt of
final approved manuscript. Mellen books are attractive:
they are hard bound with four color cloth covers.
In addition, Mellen books are made to last: they
are printed on acid free paper, and handsewn.
Five Steps To Publication
The five step publication process consists
of Submission, Evaluation, Production, Reviews,
and Marketing. Each of these steps is briefly
summarized below:
Step 1: Submission
Please complete the online
proposal submission form which requests
a description of your proposed research and
scholarly background.
Step 2: Evaluation
When your manuscript is submitted, it is read
by three independent scholars who provide the
press with critical evaluations. Over 1000
such scholars have served as Mellen readers.
