Biography

Dr. Tunde Adeleke is Professor of History and Director of the African American Studies program at the University of Montana. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. He has presented papers at numerous conferences and is the author of Songhay (The Heritage Library of African Peoples) (Rosen Publishing Group, 1996), UnAfrican Americans: Nineteenth Century Black Nationalists and the Civilizing Mission (The University of Kentucky Press, 1998), and “Without Regard to Race”: The Other Martin R. Delany (The University Press of Mississippi, 2004). Dr. Adeleke is the editor of Booker T. Washington: Interpretive Essays (The Edwin Mellen Press, 1998) and Critical Perspectives on Historical and Contemporary Issues About Africa and Black America (The Edwin Mellen Press, 2004).
